The Canton Police Department has released the results of a Click It or Ticket campaign that the Illinois Department of Transportation held the last half of May. A grant from the IDOT allowed the police to do the campaign.
The grant helped to pay extra patrol officers so that traffic enforcement was very high during the time. The campaign focused on traffic offenses, alcohol-related violations and people who are not wearing seat belts while in the car.
The results from the program were: 17 seat belt violations, 1 child safety violation, 5 suspended license violations, 13 uninsured motorists, 1 stolen vehicle recovered, 4 people arrested for outstanding warrants and more.
Accidents can happen quickly and if you are uninsured, the money must come straight out of pocket. If you or a loved one are looking to insure a motor vehicle, contact the Chicago insurance agents of Insure on the Spot by calling 1-888-972-7283.
